Reclamation Work Not Conducted at the Kumbel Gold Ore Deposit

75°40’34″E 41°46’59″N

At the Kumbel gold deposit, the unscrupulous subsoil users have not carried out reclamation work.

Environmental issues have been completely ignored by the small companies developing the gold, as the pastures and the floodplain of the Kara-Kuzhur River were barbarically destroyed. The local population, expressing their dissatisfaction, prohibited production at these deposits in 2011. The Ministry of Natural Resources (Minister Zamirbek Esenamanov) revoked the licenses of OsOO "Kum-Bel Resursa," "Rokizol," and "Kum-Bel LTD." After the departure of "Kum-Bel LTD," they refused to carry out reclamation of these lands. Meanwhile, livestock drink water from the Kara-Kuzhur River, which is also used for household needs by residents of 8 villages.

On January 31, 2018, an auction was held for the Kumbel gold area in the city of Naryn, in the Naryn RGA of the Naryn region, with a starting price of 87,790 US dollars. The company OsOO "AT Minerals" won the auction by offering 214,000 US dollars.

Currently, according to the residents of Jergetal, there is a cautious attitude towards the developers of the deposits, as questions related to environmental safety arise.
